IPC Application Instructions

Mixing Components for one batch (1,000 lbs)

·         One (1) gallon bottle Integral Plaster Color
·         Twenty four (24) gallons cool, clean potable water
·         Four (4) 94 lb bags type 1 Portland white cement
·         600 lbs pool mix

Mixing Instructions

To a clean mortar mixer add the following materials as stated:

1.    1. Add approximately 20 gallons of clean, cool potable water to the mixer.
Water should be no hotter than 80 degrees.
DO NOT ADD CALCIUM CHLORIDE AT THIS POINT.

2.    2. Turn mixer on and add four (4) 94 lb bags of white type 1 Portland cement.

3.    3. Add 300 lbs pool mix powder.  Mix cement and pool mix powder until smooth and lump free.

4.    4. Add entire contents of bottle of Integral Plaster Color.

Wash residue from bottle with additional mix water to empty all colorant from bottle.

Mix until color uniformity is reached.

5.    5. Add additional 300 lbs pool plaster.

6. Diluted calcium chloride can be added at this point only- BUT calcium chloride salts may alter plaster color over time.

7.    7. Additional water may be added at this time to reach desired consistency.
Caution should be used in the addition of water so as not to have a very thin mortar mix.

Excessive water will result in slower set time, and will require excessive troweling that has the potential of causing color shade variation.

Note:  There is no warranty of specific performance nor implied warranty on the IPC.  Addition of admixes, admixtures and changes to the pool plaster ratios can change the resulting color.
Additionally, the chemical content in different water supplies and the various water treatments, and the “over-treatment” of pool water chemistry can have effects on pool plaster color, both
immediately and over time.  Call ATG for bulletins on use of calcium chloride and recommended start up procedures.
