Color Pop™ is a new waterborne resin uniquely modified by ATG to preserve colorants and to enhance color appearance and depth/drama of a substrate’s colors. Color Pop™ is an extremely hard, durable coating with low VOC, low odor and excellent flow.
Quick Facts on Color:
All colors are created by the chemistry of colorants also called chromophores . These compounds have “double bonds” in them which are different from single bonds (such as in NaCl which is sodium bonded to chlorine = table salt).
ALL Double bonds VIBRATE. And when light hits the chromophore, the bond vibrations “soak up” wavelengths selectively. The wavelengths that are not soaked up are reflected back.
We interpret that as color. Color Pop™ enhances the way the color is seen.
Colors naturally change over time due to a variety of factors including sun exposure, uv elements, high oxygen, and more. These conditions bust double bonds and that results in an undesirable color change. Color Pop™ protects against these changes.
Guidelines for Superb results:
•Striking enhancement on fast-set floors, terrazzo, colored stone pavers, tile, and concrete.
• Some high-additive concrete substrates can be prepped with ATG FloorTek 6 Nanocoat with a 30% water dilution which is a world class primer.
• Low gloss and antiskid surfaces are achieved by using a light topcoat of ATG CTS Pro urethane or FloorTek 6 Nanocoat acrylic.
• Small percentages of ATG colors can be added for dramatic color density and brilliance. We will provide advice and samples upon request.
• Dull concrete can be tinted and/or made to have a striking dark wet look with Color Pop™ containing 1% dye.
